Overview

DRY-CONTROL project overview.

Control and modelling strategies for rotary driers.

The DRY-CONTROL project has the fundamental objective of applying "state-of-the-art" research to the drying of forage and vegetable products. The essence of the challenge is to use the minimum amount of energy for the maximum final quality of product.

Nature is not always so perfect and so we need drying technology.

The DRY-CONTROL consortium comprises 3 SMEs from 3 countries & 2 RTD performers. OLIVER, a plant operator and end-user, have co-ordinated the project.  DRTS a U.K. specialist company in sensor & real-time control system design and innovation, have ensured a structured route to commercialisation. UST have experience of RFID systems and access to the German market for drying systems.

The RTD Performers are Cemitec (Spain), an Industrial RTD Centre, with experience in modelling, simulation & automation of agrofood processes; and GLAMORGAN University (UK), supporting the real time IT control systems and sensor developments.
