The drying industry is an important part of the processing of a wide range of solids. There a lot of products commonly dried in industry, such as foodstuffs, grain, medication pellets, chemicals, plastics, minerals, paper, concrete and textiles.

Knowing the moisture content of the product to be dried is one of the factors that controls the quality and cost of the product. The Dry Control Project has developed a non-invasive microwave sensor that can be extended to other products.
